Tel Aviv is one of the world’s most culturally exciting cities and the second most populous city in Israel, it is renowned for its cosmopolitan nature and is hugely popular with tourists. In a new development, the metropolis is set to benefit from a revamp that will see part of the urban centre resemble Times Square in New York.
According to a report on Ynetnews, a project being led by the Atarim company will see the city’s port transformed. The work, which got underway this month, includes placing screens on buildings that will show television broadcasts and advertisements. As well as night film screening facilities, a cultural complex will also be created.
Speaking to Yedioth Ahronoth’s economic supplement Mamon, chief executive officer of the Atarim company Itamar Shimoni said the complex is currently being tiled with a wood deck on which the port will stage concerts and multimedia events. According to the executive, it will become one of the biggest recreation centres in Israel.
Meanwhile, he added that those behind the project want to turn the area into a recreation, culture and leisure complex for the whole family and the aim is to bring more people into the port during the morning and afternoon.
As a result of the developments, those interested in Israeli culture may be even keener to travel to the city to check out what it has to offer. Discover exciting news and facts about Israel and its vibrant cities at website of the Embassy of Israel in London.
