The beautiful town of Iznajar is located about 110 kilometers from Cordoba, but only 25 of one of the nicest places of the province, Priego de Cordoba. However, today we want to bring up the white village of Iznajar to cross its steep streets and discover some of its attractions.
First we will stop at the Castle, a Moorish fortress that was begun in the eighth century, although it was not until the fifteenth century when it finally ended. However, it is now quite damaged, but still retains some towers and walled the eleventh century.
The church of Santiago should also be another point to visit, a Gothic church built between the XVI and XVII. In it, and inside, we mainly emphasize its coffered dome, although the whole itself is worth visiting. Another highlight of religious places is Iznajar the chapel of Our Lady of Mercy, which houses the image of the town’s patron.
Yet, we also have the famous reservoir, called Lake of Andalusia, the viewpoints and the Court of the comedies, which in particular is my favorite place.
